Commitment to Higher Care

Education/CME

Continuing medical education (CME) has been going on since before the Medical Society was founded, enabling physicians to provide the best possible care to those who place their trust in them.  NHMS is proud to play a role in every step of the CME process.

In New Hampshire, physicians are required to complete 100 hours of approved CME every two years.

The New Hampshire Medical Society provides services to physicians who take CME and organizations that provide CME.  CME records are tracked at the NHMS for all physicians in the state, and reports are filed with the Board of Medicine so that physician licenses are kept current.

Organizations wishing to provide credit for the activities that they host can apply for accreditation status with NHMS to have their programs surveyed by our Education Council site surveyors.

We sponsor a variety of programs throughout the year on topics ranging from population health to the medical-legal considerations of newly passed state laws.
